OPPO has today launched its next flagship phones, the OPPO F9 in the Kenyan market. The phone will start going on sale on 24th September with pre-orders which started on 10th September ending on the 23rd.
OPPO launched two variants of the OPPO F9: 4GBRAM/64GB ROM and 6GB/64GB ROM. All the other specs are the same on the two variants.
The OPPO F9 comes with a Full HD+ 6.3-inch display with a 2,340×1,080 pixels and a screen aspect ratio of 19.5:9. This display is complemented by a bezel-free screen with just the V-shaped waterdrop notch added to it. The OPPO F9 is actually the first smartphone from the company to feature this type of a display notch.
The Key selling point for the OPPO F9 is the VOOC Flash Charge which is the world’s first low-voltage fast charging technology which according to James Irungu, PR and Communications Manager of OPPO Kenya symbolizes how OPPO pioneers technology into the market.
Both the two devices feature the same processor, the MediaTek Helio P60. It’s an octa-core processor that clocks a speed of 2GHz. They all run on the Android Oreo version 8.1 with the Color OS version 5.2 topped to it as the UI skin.
There’s some variations when it comes to the camera on the two devices though. The OPPO F9 6G RAM is fitted with 25-megapixels selfie camera while the OPPO F9 4GB RAM comes with 16-megapixels. The rear dual camera setup is however common to both the variants with 16MP+2MP sensors in it.
In terms of pricing, the 6GB variant will cost you some Ksh.37,990 while the 4GB variant will retail at Ksh.35,990.
The OPPO F9 comes to the market in two colours, Sunrise Red and Twilight Blue, OPPO promising Starry Purple before the end of the year.
