OPPO Opens Experience Shop at The Hub Karen, Expanding Retail and After-Sales Network in Kenya

The latest retail location combines product demonstrations, repairs, financing and technical support as the smartphone maker broadens customer access beyond Nairobi's city centre.

OPPO Kenya has opened their new Experience Shop at The Hub Karen, extending its retail network with a location that combines smartphone sales, repairs, accessories, financing and hands-on product demonstrations.

The outlet is the company’s fourteenth Experience Shop in Kenya and eighth in Nairobi, giving customers in Karen and neighbouring areas access to OPPO’s latest devices and support services without travelling into the central business district.

The new store stocks OPPO’s latest smartphone portfolio, including the Reno 15 Pro 5G, Reno 15 5G, Reno 15F 5G, A6, A6x and the flagship Find N6 foldable smartphone. Customers can also purchase genuine accessories, receive software assistance, access warranty support and have eligible devices repaired at the location.

“The Hub Karen is an important addition to our growing retail network as we continue bringing OPPO closer to our customers,” said Fredrique Achieng, Public Relations Manager at OPPO Kenya.

In an interview with TechTrends, she said the company selected Karen after assessing where it could reach more customers while improving convenience for existing users. The new outlet complements OPPO’s network of Experience Shops across Nairobi and other cities, including Kisumu, Mombasa and Meru.

More Than a Smartphone Store

OPPO says the Experience Shop is designed to serve customers throughout the life of their devices rather than only at the point of purchase.

Visitors can compare different smartphone models, receive product guidance from sales staff, buy genuine chargers and accessories, access repair services and resolve software-related issues in one location.

“Whatever issue that you’re trying to solve, this shop will service you,” Achieng said, describing the store as a complete support centre for OPPO users.

The physical showroom also allows customers to spend time with devices before making a purchase. That is particularly relevant for products such as the Find N6 foldable smartphone, where the design, hinge mechanism and display are central to the user experience and are best appreciated through hands-on interaction rather than online product listings alone.

AI Features Move From Marketing to Hands-On Demonstrations

Artificial intelligence has become a prominent feature across OPPO’s recent smartphone launches, and the Experience Shop gives customers an opportunity to test those capabilities before making a purchase.

According to Achieng, OPPO designed its AI tools around common everyday tasks rather than niche use cases. The company highlighted AI-powered photography features such as AI Reflection Remover, AI Unblur, AI Clarity Enhancer and AI Editor alongside productivity tools including AI Toolbox, AI LinkBoost and BeaconLink, which help users with note-taking, connectivity and everyday workflows.

The Karen store allows visitors to experience those features alongside OPPO’s latest hardware, including the Find N6 foldable, which introduces the company’s Zero-Feel Crease display and Hasselblad-tuned camera system.

Financing and Convenience Become Part of the Retail Experience

Beyond device sales, OPPO is also using its Experience Shops to expand access to smartphone financing.

Customers visiting the Karen outlet can receive guidance on installment payment options offered through MOGO and Onfon Mobile.

OPPO said financing currently covers eligible Reno Series and A Series smartphones, while the Find N6 foldable is not yet included under the programme. Staff are available in-store to explain deposits, repayment options and eligibility requirements.

The financing partnerships complement OPPO’s broader effort to make higher-value smartphones accessible to more consumers while extending after-sales support through its growing retail network.

The Hub Karen Builds on Its Experience-Led Retail Vision

For The Hub Karen, the partnership reflects a wider focus on creating destinations where customers can complete multiple errands and access services in one visit.

Centre Manager Jacobus Visser speaking to TechTrends said retail has evolved beyond transactions, with shoppers looking for convenience and experiences alongside traditional stores.

He said OPPO’s concept aligns with The Hub’s strategy of bringing global brands into a lifestyle destination where visitors can shop, compare products, access services and spend time without travelling across the city. The mall continues to expand its mix of retail, health, dining and entertainment tenants as part of that vision.

To mark the opening, OPPO also turned the launch into a customer event, with the store hosting product demonstrations, promotional bundles, giveaways and limited-time opening offers across the launch weekend. The activities gave visitors an opportunity to explore the Reno 15 Series, A6 Series and Find N6 while interacting with OPPO representatives and testing the devices before purchase.

With the opening of the Karen Experience Shop, OPPO’s retail footprint now spans 14 locations across Kenya. The company says the new outlet is intended to provide long-term access to smartphones, accessories, repairs, financing and technical support while bringing those services closer to customers living in Karen and Nairobi’s surrounding suburbs.
