Bolt ranks eighth among Kenya’s strongest brands for 2026

Bolt has been ranked eighth among Kenya’s strongest brands in the 2026 Superbrands ranking, making it the only mobility platform in the top 10.

The ranking is based on independent consumer research by Kantar for Superbrands East Africa. Consumers rated brands across 112 categories on quality, reliability and distinction.

Bolt recorded a Superbrands score of 88.786, with consumers rating it 9.08 for quality, 9.14 for distinction and 8.79 for reliability. Among the top 10 brands, only M-Pesa scored higher for distinction. Bolt’s awareness score was 78%.

“Being named among Kenya’s top 10 strongest brands is a significant milestone for Bolt and a reflection of the trust customers have placed in our platform,” said Dimmy Kanyankole, Senior General Manager for rides in East Africa at Bolt.

“We recognise that a strong brand is built through more than visibility; it is earned through the experiences we deliver every day.”

He said the recognition reinforces Bolt’s commitment to providing reliable services to riders while supporting the driver and courier partners on its platform.

Trust drives choices

Bolt was ranked alongside brands including M-Pesa, Safaricom, Samsung, WhatsApp, Google, Naivas, Dettol, Kenya Airways and YouTube, which together made up the rest of the top 10.

Research released with the rankings found that 86% of Kenyan consumers surveyed are likely to buy products or services carrying the Superbrands seal, and 84% say the recognition would increase their trust in a brand. However, only 63% would consider paying more for a brand with the seal.

“Kenyan consumers have many brands to choose from, but what ultimately matters is whether a brand delivers on its promises,” said Jawad Jaffer, project director and associate publisher at Superbrands East Africa.

“For businesses, this is a reminder that consumer trust must be earned consistently through brand building, not simply through advertising.”
