Nokia Plans To Announce A New Device On December 5th

Nokia has out of the blue stated they are announcing a new device on December 5th. The company hinted that the device is an addition in the Nokia family.

In the tweet, the company attached a video which does not provide any clues on what is coming next.

However, there is only one rumour circulating about an upcoming Nokia device which is the Nokia 8.2. Nokia was expected to announce this phone at the IFA 2019 tradeshow held in Germany in Q3. Although the company only announced two smartphones – Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2, at the show.

The next in line device has therefore been linked to being the Nokia 8.2. According to rumour mills, Nokia 8.2 will be the first 5G smartphone from the company. Although the launch timeline is a bit off since HMD said they would launch a budget-friendly 5G smartphone in 2020.

However, that may also still be the case as the device may not be available immediately after the official announcement until 2020. Major companies are expected to announce their new devices at both the CES and MWC in 2020.

Maybe Nokia wants to avoid the noise since many phones will be announced at that time. Nokia 8.2 has been rumoured to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 735 chipset and will have up to 256GB of internal storage paired with 8GB of RAM.

Qualcomm is holding an event that will run from December 3rd to 5th, and Nokia will possibly announce its new device at the show. The US chipmaker is expected to announce its new flagship chip that will be used in most premium smartphones in 2020.
