Nokia 6.2 Officially Available in Kenya Starting at Ksh 26,500

The long-lost Nokia 6.2 is now available in Kenya. The phone was announced together with Nokia 7.2 in 2019’s IFA tradeshow held in Berlin. However, availability did not happen at the same time. Nokia 7.2 has been available for a while, but the 6.2 has just arrived.

Like Nokia 7.2, Nokia 6.2 also features a similar 6.3-inch FHD+ always-on HDR display as Nokia prefers to call it as a PureDisplay screen. Major hardware specs include Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 636 processor and a triple camera setup housed in a circular camera bump.

Nokia 6.2 draws most design inspirations from the 7.2 from the triple camera setup on the back housed in a circular camera bump to the waterdrop notch at the front. Few differences reside in the internals like the use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 processor, which is not a new chipset.

Like other Nokia phones, this phone is also under Google’s Android One program, which guarantees monthly security updates for three years and two major OS updates.

The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box but will jump into Q as early as next year. Nokia says anyone who buys this device will get 100GB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos.

“With the Nokia 6.2 we wanted to reimagine the features we can offer on our popular 6 series smartphones. As such, Nokia 6.2 comes with two exciting firsts: a breath-taking and immersive PureDisplay screen and a powerful AI-powered triple camera,” said Gopher Ogembo, Senior Business Manager for HMD Global.

“With Nokia 6.2 we’re making sure you get a premium device, that doesn’t compromise on looks or performance. Coming with a feature-packed triple camera, fans can set their creative side loose when they feel like it.”

In Kenya, you can buy the device starting at Ksh 26,500. This will get you the less spec’d model that comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage in Ceramic Black.
