TECNO Phantom 9 Price and Specifications in Kenya

TECNO’s next high-end device the Phantom 9 has already been launched in Nigeria. Though TECNO Phantom 9 specs look good on paper it might not satisfy your expectations in some ways too.

The design is impressive; the back has a blue to purple gradient color, which makes the body color stunning at a glance. The USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and speaker are all at the bottom of the device.

You get a 6.4 FHD+ display with 1080p resolution, a 32MP dew-drop front facing camera with Dual Flash, a triple camera set up on the rear with 16MP primary camera, 2MP ultra-wide and 8MP depth sensor plus you get Quad Flash support.

Implementation of the dew-drop notch ensures a high 83.4% screen-to-body ratio best of TECNO so far. The selfie camera has also been installed with Animoji’s the 3D avatars like Apple’s Memoji’s though these are not quite impressive to the latter’s.

Memory wise the Phantom 9 has great offering with 6GB of RAM and internal storage of 128GB which the system only occupies around 2GB out of the box, so you have about 116GB of space to play with. A 3500mAh battery powers the Phantom 9 sadly there’s no Quick Charge support which is a turn off to many like me.

The device runs on latest Android 9 Pie splashed with HiOS 5.0. One of the fantastic features about the Phantom 9 is the in-screen fingerprint scanner though not new it’s first in the company’s lineage of devices. Under the hood, Tecno Phantom 9 depends on the Octa-core MediaTek MT6765 Helio P35 SoC clocked at 2.35 GHz paired with PowerVR GE8322 for graphical processing.

Other notable features which are quite common is the 4G LTE support, GPS, Dual-SIM, microSD card, Bluetooth 4.0 and OTG support. And sorry there’s no USB Type C support.

The TECNO Phantom 9 price is $219 in other places, so basically, that may translate to about Ksh 23,000. With a price in the range of Huawei’s latest device Y9 Prime 2019, that will be a competitive spot especially when the Huawei P30 Lite is almost going at a similar price.
