Nokia 3310 4G version is coming

HMD Global is releasing a new version of the Nokia 3310 with 4G. The new version was spotted by Nokiamob passing through TENAA, the Chinese regulatory body for telecommunications devices.

Photos of the device published on the official TENNA pages show that the new version is all similar to the standard 3310 (2017).

The biggest change is on the 3310 is the OS and according to VTechgrapgy, the Nokia 3310 4G version will run YuNOS replacing the Feature OS and s30+ which was present in the 3G and 2G versions respectively.  Remember this OS is being used on some full-screen devices and can run some apps present on Android platform. Does this mean that the 4G version will be able to run apps like WhatsApp? That remains unclear but it’s definitely something we will be keenly following.

The launch of the Nokia 3310 4G will mark the new era of 4G feature phones. As we mentioned, previous models of the device were only able to connect to either 2G or 3G networks.

We are still not sure when HMD Global plans to unveil the device but we might just be seeing it at the CES in Las Vegas next month. The home of Nokia phones will also be unveiling the Nokia 9 and the Nokia 6 (2018) at the event.

About the pricing, we are also not sure but the 3G version was priced at $60 (Ksh.6,000), so we should maybe expect the 4G version to be slightly higher, maybe something under $90 (Ksh.9,000).

Well, this something we should definitely look forward to. Just remember to keep visiting our website for more details about this device in the coming weeks.
