Today, Huawei launched a refresh to its Y lineup dubbed Huawei Y9s. In addition to that, there were also some new fitness trackers unveiled. The Huawei Band 4 and Band 4e.
Huawei Band 4 features a 0.96″ 2.5D TFT color screen with 80 x 160 pixels resolution. For a fitness tracker, this screen is perfect – it displays several elements at a go, including time and date, fitness data, and app notifications.
Band 4 comes in three color variants Graphite Black, Sakura Pink, and Amber Sunrise that look strikingly impressive. Inside the Band 4 is an Apollo 3 microprocessor, and a 91mAh battery that takes about 1.5 hours to fully charge. The battery can deliver between 7 to 9 days of life, according to Huawei.
The main controls are the fully featured touch screen and a home button located on the side. Now on the main functionalities, Huawei Band 4 is capable of tracking your heart rate, sleep, and activities like walking, running, and cycling. Another addition to Band 4 is the water-resistant feature up to 50 meters.
Other features include Bluetooth 4.2 support. To use the Mi Band 4 you need to have a phone running Android 4.4 or iOS 9 and above.
On the other hand, Huawei Band 4e is branded as a ‘Basketball Performance Tracker’ and a ‘Professional Running Guidance.’ It is also water-resistant, supports Bluetooth 4.2 and a smaller 71mAh battery that can last up to two weeks on regular use, or 21 days standby time.
The display measures 0.5 inches and is a PMOLED black-and-white screen. Band 4e comes in six color variants – Misty Grey, Sakura Coral, Seaweed Green, Ceylon Yellow, Alizarin Red, and Cobalt Violet.
Coupled with the Huawei Health app, the Band 4e helps you track your game performance like the vertical jump data like height and hang time, movement stats like speed, distance, steps, and more.
Apart from this, Band 4e has smart features like sleep monitoring, message/call notification, alarm reminder, find your phone, and activity reminder, among others.
Huawei Band 4 and Band 4e Price And Availability
Huawei Band 4 will be retailing at Ksh 4,699 while the Band 4e is priced at Ksh 3,199. Both will be available in the country by the end of November 2019.
