List of Nokia Android smartphones that will support Safaricom VOLTE

Safaricom VoLTE went live countrywide this week. Through Safaricom VoLTE technology, customers with VoLTE supportive phones will be able to experience clear voice and video calls with reduced background noise.

The technology depends on the high data capacity offered by the 4G network to deliver High-Definition voice quality when making calls.

HMD Global has shared the list of phones that are VoLTE enabled. This will enable Nokia Android smartphone users to enjoy the service that is provided by Safaricom.

To use VoLTE a customer needs to have a compatible device that supports VoLTE on the Safaricom network, as well as the VoLTE service provisioned on their SIM card.

VoLTE will only function when in 4G/LTE coverage, however, it is important to note that the device will automatically switch back to the older 2G and 3G technologies when necessary to enable a seamless experience. A customer on VoLTE can call a customer on a non-VoLTE device, or who is not in 4G/LTE coverage, and vice versa however.
