Linda Ndung’u is the New Country Manager for Bolt Kenya

Ride-hailing company Bolt has appointed Linda Ndungu as its new country manager, charged with the responsibility of scaling the company’s local business to new heights.

Kenneth Micah, Regional Manager for Bolt, Eastern Africa said in a statement, “We are thrilled to have Linda join the Bolt team as the new Country Manager for Kenya. We look forward to working with her as she leads the team, and takes our business to the next frontier. Linda brings to the company great expertise and understanding in developing, managing, and growing SMEs as well as large-scale enterprises within the East African market and beyond. We are confident that she will infuse this expertise to ensure that we continue offering affordable, quality and safe services to all our business partners.”

Linda has worked in senior positions at Coca-Cola,  Deloitte and most recently the non-profit organization Instiglio where she headed the Nairobi office.

Linda welcomed her appointment, stating her determination to deliver quality, convenience and affordable service to Bolt customers.

“I am delighted to join Bolt and I am committed to progressively work with the team to deliver quality, reliable and affordable services to our customers. I will continue to champion the provision of safe ride-hailing services in Kenya, whilst creating entrepreneurial opportunities that enable more people to earn a sustainable living,”

She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing from the University of Nairobi.

The changes at the company’s hierarchy come at a time when digital cab-hailing businesses in Eastern Africa are at a regulatory crossroads. In Tanzania, Bolt was forced to change its operating model to offer its services to corporate clients only after the introduction of an extra levy

In Kenya, the newly-published digital cab regulations have put operators at loggerheads with the government. Uber, which is Bolt’s fiercest rival has asked the Supreme Court to suspend the new laws.
