So, it is still 2019, but we are remaining with only four months before the year closes. Oppo has officially announced the Oppo A9(2020). Oppo A9(2020) is the latest addition to Oppo’s mid-range tier devices and takes over Oppo A9 launched earlier this year.
On the exterior, the two devices are not largely indifferent except for the choice of colors and the camera setup. But the baseline is, Oppo A9(2020) packs major improvements as compared to its predecessor.
Oppo A9(2020) has a quad-camera setup on the rear. Under the hood, Oppo’s latest device uses Qualcomm’s SoC instead of MediaTek’s Helio chipset in the A9. Plus, the battery capacity has been bumped up to 5,000mAh from 4,000mAh in the predecessor.
The device has a 6.5-inch HD+ display packaged in an 89% screen-to-body ratio. With that, the display is notched in a water-drop style which houses the 16MP selfie camera that features AI Beautification.
Moving over to the back of the device, Oppo A9 (2020) has four camera lenses comprising of a 48MP primary shooter, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and two 2MP lenses. The main camera setup supports Ultra Night Mode 2.0, professional mode, panorama, portrait, time-lapse photography and slow motion.
On the inside, the device sports an Octa-core Snapdragon 665 processor, paired with Adreno 610. The combo is aided by either 4GB or 8GB (LPDDR 4x) of RAM. Powering the whole setup is a 5000mAh battery with Reverse Charging Capability.
The internal storage is 128GB, and the device runs on Oppo’s Android iteration; ColorOS 6.0.1, based on Android 9 Pie.
Moving on to the type of connectivity supported, Oppo A9 supports OTG, Bluetooth 5.0 and 4G LTE. Sensors include; Geomagnetic Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor, Acceleration and a Gyro Sensor. Other features include Gameboost 2.0, Doly Atmos & Dual Stereo speakers and microSD card support. Oppo A9 (2020) comes in two color variants; Space Purple and Marine Green.
Availability & Price
Oppo has just announced the device will no official statement on the availability or price yet. In India, Oppo A9 will be launched this September. So, we expect the device to be available locally before the year closes.
