Nokia T20 Tablet with 2K Display and 8,200mAh Battery Officially Launched in Kenya for Ksh.29,700

After globally launching the Nokia T20 Tablet in October this year, HMD Global is finally making the device available in Kenya starting today.

HMD Global says the Nokia T20 brings the classic Nokia phone quality to the big screen, with a range of versatile features and a long-lasting battery life that helps you excel at work and relax when it’s time to play.

It also marks the introduction of the brand-new T-series and features a 2K display and an 8-megapixel rear camera sensor.

Just like what we have seen with Nokia phones, the tablet also comes with three years of monthly security updates and two years of free operating system (OS) upgrades.

“We pride ourselves on always listening and responding to people’s wishes. Over the past year, we noticed the increase in hybrid working and online learning, as well as the growing use of social media, video calling platforms and streaming services-leading to an increase in the appetite for tablets, which grew on impressive 53% in 01 from 2020 to 2021 So, we created HMD Global’s first-ever Nokia tablet to address people’s changing needs and their desire for versatile technology and features. Designed for work, learning and play, our Nokia 120 offers the classic qualities people have come to love and expect from our smartphones, in a brand-new format.” Gopher Ogembo, Senior Business Manager Kenya & East Africa HMD Global said.

The Nokia T20 tablet features a 10.4-inch 2K (2,000×1,200 pixels) in-cell display with 400 nits of peak brightness. It runs on Android 11 and as I mentioned earlier is promised to receive two years of OS upgrades and three years of timely security updates.

The tablet is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T610 SoC, along with 3GB and 4GB RAM options as well as  32GB and 64GB of onboard storage options which can be expanded using a microSD card (up to 512GB).

For photos and videos, the Nokia T20 comes with a 5-megapixel selfie camera sensor at the front and the 8-megapixel camera sensor at the back. There’s also an LED flash paired with the back camera.

The Nokia T20 packs an 8,200mAh battery that HMD says allows for 15 hours of surfing the web, seven hours of conference calls, or 10 hours watching the latest films with the family.

The tablet will be available in Kenya starting from December 15th for Ksh.27,900.

Spotify will give Nokia T20 owners access to 70 million tracks and 2.9 million podcasts out of the box. Offering additional control over your online privacy, HMD Global says Express VPN will also be available on the tablet with a 30-day free trial.
