Itel Announces S16 Series Smartphones, new TVs, and a slew of Accessories

As planned, itel Mobile Kenya has officially announced its new S16 Smartphone series. The series has two models: a standard 6.5-inch S16 and a Pro version with a slightly bigger 6.6-inch HD+ display. The pro version comes in two variants as well, but the only difference is 4G support.

All the two (three?) models have a notch on the front, a hole punch for the Pro, and a waterdrop for the standard model.

Itel’s S-series phones are the company’s line of selfie-focused smartphones, and the new S16 models uphold that legacy.

They feature the so-called AI Selfie 2.0, which brings improvement relative to the predecessor and adds several new shooting modes.

Itel S16 series also packs the now standard triple camera array on the rear, including an 8MP primary camera, 2MP Macro camera, and a depth-sensing camera. Itel’s S16 series also features its best smartphone design yet – not to mention the splash and dustproof feature.

The S16 series also features a 4,000mAh battery, 32GB of ROM, 2GB of memory, and Android 10 Go Edition.

Itel 16 is available in Ice crystal blue, cosmic shine, and dazzle black colors while the S16 Pro has just two – Gradient green and purple.

In partnership with Airtel Kenya, itel S16 series buyers will be provided with a free SIM card and 2GB monthly data for free in the first three months.

Itel S16 costs KES 7,799, and you can purchase at either Jumia, Kilimall, or Xpark. The price of the other two models wasn’t revealed at the launch.

Itel TVs

Besides the new S16 phones, itel also unveiled new TVs in Kenya for the first time. iTel’s TV ship with i-Cast, a feature that lets you project your smartphone screen to the TV without a cable or internet connection.

Itel announced a range of new TVs under the S and I series branding. Apart from the KES 7,900 24-inch satellite TV, itel has new 32- and 43-inch smart TVs going for KES 11,500 and KES 22, 900.

The company also talked about an Android TV coming in 2021, but that statement wasn’t clear.

New itel Accessories

The company also has a new range of accessories, including TWS earphones and a smart band. The itel ITW-60 promises 18hours of battery life and six full charges from the casing.

For the smart band, named IFB-11, it features an HD color screen, three training modes, IP67 splash resistance, all-day tracking, and 20 days standby.

Itel also introduced its new 10,000mAh battery with dual output and can draw in power via two channels simultaneously micro USB and USB Type C. They also announced a multifunctional power bank, a hanging lamp, and an extension strip.

The company is also preparing to introduce more products in the Kenyan market in the future.

Availability

All of these products will be available on Jumia, Kilimall, and Xpark.
