Meta launches an enterprise push built around its growing AI stack
Meta has launched Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business division aimed at helping companies deploy artificial intelligence across growth, customer engagement and business operations, as the technology giant moves to turn its expanding AI capabilities into enterprise products and services.
The new platform will bring Meta’s AI technology stack to businesses and developers, initially including the Muse agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code. The company said the initiative will combine its advanced AI models, AI agents and large-scale infrastructure with its experience working with millions of businesses.
Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the new enterprise push, describing it as the next major pillar of the company’s business as artificial intelligence continues to reshape how organisations operate and grow.
“We believe superintelligence will create significant new opportunities for all people and businesses,” Zuckerberg said, adding that Meta already serves billions of people and helps hundreds of millions of businesses reach customers.
According to Zuckerberg, Meta is entering the enterprise market from a position built around capabilities that include advanced models, leading AI agents, large-scale infrastructure and years of working directly with businesses. The company intends to use those capabilities to help organisations adopt AI in ways that extend beyond advertising and customer acquisition.
Meta has appointed Chirantan “CJ” Desai as its Chief Enterprise Platform Officer to lead the new business. Desai will report directly to Zuckerberg and will be responsible for developing Meta’s enterprise strategy and products as the company expands its presence in the business technology market.
Desai joins Meta from MongoDB, where he served as CEO and President. Before MongoDB, he led product and engineering at Cloudflare and spent nearly eight years at ServiceNow, including serving as President and Chief Operating Officer. Meta highlighted his experience across AI, infrastructure, business applications and security, as well as his relationships across the enterprise technology industry.
In his first statement as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer, Desai said AI is expected to fundamentally change how organisations innovate, grow, serve customers and manage their operations in the coming years.
“Meta Enterprise Platform will focus on turning its AI stack into products and services that companies can deploy for their own businesses,”
He pointed to Meta’s existing relationships with businesses as a key advantage, noting that the company already works with millions of advertisers and hundreds of millions of businesses globally.
The enterprise platform will therefore seek to build on an ecosystem Meta already operates at significant scale, rather than approaching the business market solely as an AI model provider. Its offering is expected to connect AI models and agents with infrastructure and software tools that businesses and developers can use directly.
Security and privacy will also be central to Meta’s enterprise offering, according to Desai. He said those considerations are being built into Meta’s enterprise products from the outset, signalling the company’s intention to address the requirements businesses face when deploying AI within their own operations.
The launch marks a significant expansion of Meta’s commercial AI strategy. While the company has increasingly invested in AI models, infrastructure and consumer-facing products, Meta Enterprise Platform places businesses and developers at the centre of its next phase of AI expansion.
Desai also made remarks that the broader ambition is to make Meta a destination where enterprises can use AI to scale their businesses, while Zuckerberg described the initiative as the beginning of a new chapter for the company.
For businesses, the move could put Meta’s growing collection of AI models, agents and developer tools into a more direct enterprise context, bringing capabilities that have largely been associated with Meta’s consumer platforms and advertising ecosystem into the wider business technology market.
