Odoo brings ClearTax e-invoicing and tax compliance into its ERP platform across the Gulf

ClearTax has partnered with Odoo to integrate tax compliance and e-invoicing capabilities into Odoo’s business management platform for companies in the UAE and wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

Under the partnership, Odoo will develop a native connector with ClearTax, allowing businesses to manage invoicing and indirect tax compliance within their existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) workflows rather than relying on separate compliance systems.

The integration is initially expected to serve an estimated 4,000 to 5,000 Odoo users across the UAE and Oman, with the companies planning to extend access to other businesses across the GCC and potentially additional international markets.

The partnership comes as governments in the Gulf accelerate the digitisation of tax administration and introduce new e-invoicing requirements. The changes are increasing the need for businesses to automate compliance processes and adapt their invoicing systems to evolving regulatory frameworks.

Through the integration, Odoo customers will be able to access ClearTax’s compliance technology through a self-service onboarding process. The companies said embedding the functionality within Odoo is intended to reduce the operational work involved in implementing compliant invoicing and tax processes.

“Businesses do not want tax compliance to operate as a separate and disconnected process. They expect it to be built into the systems they already use to manage their operations. ur partnership with Odoo responds directly to that need. By bringing ClearTax’s compliance infrastructure into the Odoo ecosystem, we are making it easier for businesses across the region to manage regulatory change while remaining focused on growth.” Archit Gupta, Founder and CEO, ClearTax

Odoo said the integration will help its customers respond to changes in e-invoicing requirements while supporting its strategy of providing localised business software for different markets.

“The partnership between Odoo and ClearTax will allow Odoo customers to seamlessly stay compliant with the ever-evolving e-invoicing landscape across the region. At Odoo, our priority has always been to provide fully localized solutions that meet the needs of each market we operate in, and our partnership with ClearTax is a step in that direction.” Pavitra Singh, Managing Director, Odoo Middle East

Odoo provides an integrated suite of business applications covering areas including accounting, finance, sales, inventory, manufacturing, human resources, customer relationship management and e-commerce. The platform has established a significant customer base among small and medium sized businesses.

ClearTax, meanwhile, provides tax compliance and e-invoicing technology to businesses operating across multiple markets. The company says it supports more than 5,000 enterprises globally and processes more than one billion e-invoices annually.

Its platform is designed to connect tax and e-invoicing compliance with existing ERP and financial systems through automation, API based integrations and digital workflows.

The Odoo integration will bring these capabilities into the ERP environment used by participating businesses, allowing tax and invoicing requirements to be managed alongside other core business operations.

ClearTax and Odoo said they will also assess opportunities to take the partnership into additional international markets as e-invoicing mandates and digital tax systems continue to expand globally.
