Raxio taps Dennis Kahindi to lead Uganda operations as data centre demand grows

Raxio Group has named technology and telecommunications executive Dennis Kahindi as its General Manager for Uganda, as demand for data centres grows amid the country’s accelerating digital transformation.
Kahindi brings more than 20 years of experience in Uganda’s technology and telecommunications industry, having held senior positions at companies including Huawei, Microsoft, Oracle, Liquid Intelligent Technologies and Airtel Uganda. In his new capacity, he will oversee Raxio’s operations and strengthen relationships with organizations relying on digital infrastructure across the country.
The appointment comes as financial institutions, government agencies, telecommunications companies, healthcare providers and other businesses increasingly require secure and reliable infrastructure to host critical systems and data locally.
Raxio operates data centres across Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Côte d’Ivoire and Angola, with a facility under development in Tanzania. Its facilities provide carrier-neutral colocation services, allowing customers to select their preferred telecommunications and network providers.
Raxio Group CEO Robert Skjodt said Kahindi’s experience in the regional technology sector would help the company expand its partnerships and support Uganda’s growing digital economy.
“Dennis combines deep knowledge of the region’s technology landscape with a proven ability to build businesses, develop strong customer relationships and lead high-performing teams,” Skjodt said.
Kahindi noted that his decision to join Raxio was driven by the company’s focus on developing digital infrastructure across African markets. He said Uganda’s increasing reliance on digital services was creating a greater need for locally hosted infrastructure capable of providing reliable access to critical systems and data.
His immediate focus will include developing partnerships with businesses and public-sector organisations involved in Uganda’s digital transformation.
Ultimately, Raxio said its data centres are built to Tier III international standards for availability and resilience. The company recently reported more than USD 380 million in committed capital, with backing from shareholders Roha and Meridiam and financing from the International Finance Corporation, Proparco and the Emerging Africa & Asia Infrastructure Fund.
