Jumia sells motorbikes for 10 Bob as it Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

Kenya’s leading e-commerce platform Jumia will mark its 10th Anniversary by celebrating consumers and supporting sellers.

The company’s anniversary-themed ‘10 years with You’ will see consumers enjoy discounts of up to 90% with top deals among them as ‘Nduthi ya 10 bob’ translating to motorbikes for only KES 10 in partnership with Tris Motorcycles! The Anniversary Sale slated to hold from 13th June to 3rd July is sponsored by top brands like Xiaomi, Jameson, Nivea, Vision Plus, Tecno, Johnnie Walker, and Oraimo.

“Jumia Sale is simply a celebration of how far we have come as the leader of e-commerce in Kenya 10 years later. From the early days when placing an order online was a myth to today where consumers have embraced us as their ‘Everyday Jumia’ showing the increasingly important role that e-commerce plays in the daily lives of Kenyans.” said Jumia Kenya CEO, Betty Mwangi.

Companies across the country are also turning to e-commerce as a channel to improve their sales, and compensate for the disruption to traditional offline channels. E-commerce in Kenya is also creating new opportunities for SMEs to grow, and job opportunities for a new generation to thrive.

“We would like to urge our consumers to take advantage of the Jumia Anniversary Sales Campaign which starts today and runs for the next three weeks with great discounts and 10 bod deals on our daily Flash Sales from 10 AM on items like Unga, Sugar, phones, beer, beauty products, and even shoes. Nduthi ya 10 bob is set to go live at 10 AM this morning to the delight of our customers”, said Betty Mwangi adding that they will have limited stock.

More than 50% of Jumia sellers are women who continue to close the gender gap through e-commerce. Sellers leverage the Jumia Platform to reach millions of consumers across the country.
