Just late last night, I wanted to purchase my usual 700MB Telkom Data bundles which cost 50/= after my daily 1GB data ran out. Typically, this offering is usually packaged with another 700MB night data which can only be used from 12 midnight to 6 am.
To my surprise, there was a new option that went for the same price but lacks the 700MB Night data. Instead of the 700MB night data, Telkom is now offering 60 Minutes that can only be used for calls within the network i.e. Telkom-Telkom calls.
And well, the 700MB + 700MB (night data) bundle is still existing but it’ll cost you more. You now have to pay 60bob instead of the usual 50. However, the company has added 60 Telkom to Telkom minutes that last for 24 hours on top of that, plus free WhatsApp.
Looking over at the Night owl 5GB data package which has been going for 39 bob – a mouthwatering deal – the company has now increased the price to 50/=. I always use Telkom as my secondary SIM card and I’m certain the company didn’t update its customers on these particular changes. Last night I was in for a surprise.
Several customers have also raised concerns about the same both on some Facebook groups and even on Twitter. In reply to a Twitter user, who raised concerns on the same, the company replied with “… we understand your concerns. Kindly note that Telkom is committed to improving its DATA offerings to meet its customers’ needs.”
The company reiterated this message upon my inquiry about the same this morning.
Hi Alvin, thanks for your feedback. We will forward it to the relevant authorities. Telkom is committed to improving its DATA offerings to meet its customers' needs.^eA
