New Telkom customers to get 1GB data and 100 minutes of talk time monthly for a one-off payment of Ksh.100

Madaraka Life : Last month, Telkom Kenya teased plans to unveil a new digital independence product as it seeks to onboard more customers to its network. The product, the telco said was aimed at offering its customers an important access key to their own digital independence, for the Madaraka season, and beyond.

Well, the product finally went live today for users in Nairobi and Telkom Kenya is calling it Madaraka Life.

The Madaraka Life offer will see new Telkom customers get a life-time value of free 1GB Mobile Internet Data and 100 minutes of talk time to make Telkom-to-Telkom calls, every month for a one-time payment of KSh.100.

Telkom becomes the first network in Kenya to introduce such an offering, making Mobile Internet Data and talk time even more accessible to more Kenyans.

“Making calls and being able to connect to the Internet are now a basic need for all. In this age of increased virtual communications, Telkom fully understands how important access to communications services is to all Kenyans. Telkom is therefore making this commitment to empower Kenyans with this digital independence that they seek; giving them easier access to essential technology services that continue to simplify our lifestyles.”   Telkom’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Mugo KIBATI said.

“Madaraka Life is in line with the spirit of Madaraka; valuing Kenyan freedom – giving Kenyans the opportunity to pursue their goals and live their dreams thereby becoming truly independent,”  he added.

Customers who sign up for this offer will also be registered to Telkom’s mobile money service, T-kash. Upon successful registration, they will receive an instant cashback of KSh.50 to their mobile money wallet.

This offer is currently only available for customers within Nairobi. Telkom however plans to extend it to other towns in the coming months.

To access the offer Telkom Kenya customers can dial *444*58#.

The use of Mobile Internet Data continues to grow, with the customer demanding for more competitive and comprehensive products that address their different and ever changing needs: browsing, downloading, streaming, mobile money transactions, reading the news online, and updating their apps; actions that are now very important to everyday life. The development of new products and solutions, therefore, Telkom says will ensure that the customer, who is keen on the next best offer, will be able to benefit from offers that broaden and simplify their digital lifestyles.
