Huawei Watch Fit Set for Kenya Launch Soon


Huawei Mobile Kenya has announced plans to launch its latest smartwatch — Watch Fit in Kenya.

The Huawei Watch Fit, according to the company aims to be that smart guide by packing in an animated personal trainer covering 12 workout courses including 44 posture demonstrations.

The Watch Fit will be Huawei’s addition to its smartwatches currently in the market including Huawei Band series, Huawei GT2 and Huawei GT2 pro. 

Huawei does not mention the exact date the Watch Fit will go on sale in Kenya.

Huawei Watch Fit Specifications 

The Huawei Watch Fit features a1.64-inch AMOLED screen with 2.5D curved glass on top. The smartwatch has an HD resolution of 280×456 pixels, 326ppi of pixel density and 70 percent screen-to-body ratio.

It comes preloaded with six Always-On watch faces. Huawei also has its Watch Face Store where you can get additional watch faces from third-party developers. It also comes with 12 animated workouts that include exercises such as Exercise at Work, Full-Body Stretch, and Ab ripper and also some 44 standard movement demonstrations.

The new smartwatch has 4GB of onboard storage and also includes an optical heart rate sensor as well as an ambient light sensor. There’s a built-in battery on the Huawei Watch Fit that Huawei claims can deliver 10 days of typical usage .

The watch also has 5 ATM water-resistance as well as compatibility with devices running at least Android 5.0 or iOS 9.0.

According to IDC reports, Huawei was put in second place globally during Q1 of 2020 and made it the only smartwatch brand to grow more than 100% with a shipment increase of 118.5% year-on-year.

Speaking of the soon to be launched smartwatch, Huawei Country Head Jim Zhujie said, “With the wide variety of smart devices surrounding us today, we live in a connected digital era. Apart from the smart phones, which act as a nexus point, one of the most popular smart devices seen with people are in fact smart wearables. Modern smart wearables have woven themselves ever so deep into our daily lives, serving primarily as an extension of our smartphones. However, a key feature of these wearables in fact lies in their health and fitness tracking capabilities. With today’s world having everyone more concerned about their well-being, it’s no surprise that everyone wants to keep track of major health indicators.”
