Nigerians can apply for Dangote Refinery shares through Flutterwave

Nigerians can now apply to buy shares in Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE online through Flutterwave, giving individual investors a digital route into the company’s initial public offering (IPO).

The shares are being offered at ₦525 each, with investors required to subscribe for at least 10 shares, putting the minimum investment at ₦5,250. The offer is scheduled to close on 13 October 2026.

Flutterwave is participating in the offer as a licensed receiving agent and is working with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-licensed stockbrokers, including Chapel Hill Denham, to process investor applications.

The digital application is open to Nigerians with a Bank Verification Number (BVN). Investors are required to provide details including the number of shares they want to purchase, their BVN, next-of-kin information and the bank account to which dividends or refunds will be paid.

Applicants who already have a Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) account or Clearing House Number (CHN) can submit those details during the application. Those without one can have the necessary account set up through a participating stockbroker.

Once an investor completes payment through bank transfer, the subscription is passed to the stockbroker for processing. After the IPO allotment, the shares are registered in the investor’s name through CSCS and can subsequently be managed through the stockbroker.

Flutterwave said investor funds collected through the process will be kept in a designated collection account separate from its operating funds before being transferred to the stockbroker’s offer account.

The Dangote Refinery share offer is also being made available through several Flutterwave-linked platforms, extending the application beyond its main digital payment ecosystem.

Businesses using Flutterwave for Business can access the offer through their dashboards and subscribe using funds held in their Flutterwave balances. Nigerians living abroad can also access the share offer through Send App, while OWO by Mono users can submit applications through WhatsApp.

The different access points are aimed at making the Dangote Refinery IPO available to a wider pool of Nigerian investors, including individuals, businesses and Nigerians living outside the country.

The offering gives retail investors an opportunity to take a stake in Dangote Refinery, which has been positioned as Africa’s largest oil refinery, without relying on the traditional paper-based share application process.

With the offer priced at ₦525 per share and the minimum subscription set at 10 shares, investors can enter the offering with ₦5,250, subject to the applicable terms of the share offer and eventual allotment.
