Payment orchestration platform NjiaPay has introduced a one-click payments solution designed to help South African merchants speed up online checkouts and improve customer conversions.
The new solution allows returning customers to complete purchases without re-entering their card details or repeating 3-D Secure authentication after their first verified transaction. Unlike many traditional one-click payment solutions, NjiaPay’s offering works across multiple payment service providers (PSPs), giving merchants greater flexibility.
NjiaPay said the platform securely tokenizes customers’ payment details after their initial authenticated purchase. The company noted its technology is designed to strengthen payment security while improving convenience. Rather than storing actual card numbers, the platform generates a unique token that can only be used with the specific merchant where it was created. This approach reduces the risk of sensitive payment data being exposed, even if a merchant’s systems are compromised
According to NjiaPay, merchants using the solution could see a 5% to 10% increase in card-on-file payment conversions by reducing friction during checkout.
Further, the company said the launch comes as payment friction continues to affect ecommerce growth in South Africa, with failed authentications, OTP drop-offs and lengthy checkout processes contributing to high cart abandonment rates.
“Once customers consent to saving their payment details after a successful authenticated transaction, they can complete future purchases with a single click, without entering their card details again,” said Jonatan Allback, CEO of NjiaPay.
The solution is aimed at ecommerce retailers, subscription businesses and other merchants that rely on repeat purchases.
Additionally, NjiaPay operates as a payment orchestration platform that enables merchants to manage multiple payment providers through a single API. The platform supports card payments, digital wallets and variable recurring payment methods, including Capitec Pay VRP.
“Our mission is to equip online businesses with the right tools to increase sales, starting with seamless one-click payments,” Allback added.
