TECNO FAN Club Launched at The University of Nairobi


TECNO has partnered with the University of Nairobi to launch the TECNO Fan Club at the learning institution. The Fan Club seeks to help selected students get an opportunity to be part of the TECNO team through an internship program and other opportunities.

The announcement was made at the Chandaria Hall, University of Nairobi towers.

TECNO says the TECNO fans club is embedded in the thriving partnership between TECNO and the University of Nairobi, which revolves around identifying and nurturing students’ skills and talents.

Speaking during the launch of the club, Ray Fang, TECNO Kenya Regional Director noted, “As TECNO we believe in the young as they are the future citizens of the world. We want to nurture them and guide them to become model citizens and create a great opportunity for themselves.”

Students who join the TECNO Fan Club will be offered internship opportunities with TECNO. They will receive the latest product information and free experience of the TECNO’s latest products as well as opportunities to Participate in the Office product launch conference and interact with outlets and brand spokespersons

The students will also get opportunities to participate in Campus public lectures held by the company from time to time.

During the month of October, TECNO will have various stations within the campus with key members of the TECNO team to interact with the various devices as well as know how to be able to join the TECNO Fan Club.

Johnson Ireri Kinyua, the Dean of Students at the University of Nairobi said,” The signing of the collaborative agreement, slated later in the year, will mark a critical milestone in academia-industry partnership to foster digital transformation, skills transfer, and job creation in the country.”

TECNO’s target is to reach over 10,000 students in the program and it will be extended to the various institutions of higher learning in Kenya.

The empowerment of African youth through training, skills and technology transfer, apprenticeship, and employment has been prioritized by Chinese enterprises in line with the Belt and Road Initiative and nine programs of the eighth Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), held in Dakar, Senegal.
