The Organisation is non-profit organisation operating in the Ngando slums with the aim of helping orphaned and vulnerable children. Established in 2002, the organisation currently runs programs that host up to 120 children from the community in the slum. According to the Director, the initiative was started to help mitigate the increased cases of child abuse and neglect in the region.

The ACDO director said the Kshs. 356,680 cheque will go towards the priorities the organisation has outlined in helping the young children in the slum thanking TECNO Mobile for this great initiative.

”This support by TECNO will go towards the priority area we have set for the children as an organisation and help ease the burden we are currently facing as small organisation” Mr.Lamok said.

”For us to have a future as a country, we need to specifically look at the future building blocks of the society and children like the ones we are helping here form this integral part of that future. That is why i want to thank TECNO Mobile for taking the first step in coming in to help us”

He added that this money will go a long way in supporting the several activities the organisation is doing together with a dedicated team of volunteers always at hand to assist the children.

The organisation currently operates on a railway reserve, a small portion of land donated to them. This according to the Director is  great danger to them and the greatest challenge.  With few rooms the organisation has been able to provide a home for the children who would hitherto be rendered homeless. The home has been able to support these children with their basic needs like food, clothing and shelter. They have settled school fees for some of the children to pursue their secondary education

Arise Child also has an elaborate counseling department with volunteer experts that handle psychological needs of the children. The home has also been able to establish teams in martial arts and rugby that have become a force to reckon with in their respective sports tournaments.

TECNO Mobile says it will continue supporting such initiatives to accompany their #LeaveYourMark slogan and it hopes the donation will help provde a beter future for the children at Arise Children’s home.
