Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 pre-order units sold out in Kenya

A week after opening pre-orders for the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 in Kenya, Samsung has announced that all the pre-order units have been sold out.

The new Galaxy Z series was launched on August 11th, 2021 with pre-orders in Kenya opening on September 8th. Pre-orders were available from authorized Samsung stores as well as Safaricom retail outlets countrywide as well as Masoko.

The recommended retail price for Galaxy Z Fold3 will start from KShs. 220,999 for the 512GB, while the  Galaxy Z Flip3 5G pricing starts at KShs. 119,999.

The limited pre-order came with exclusive offers. Customers who pre-ordered the Galaxy Z Fold3 received a Flip cover with S-pen and a wireless duo charger. The Galaxy Filp3 came with a leather cover as well as a wireless duo charger.  The customers will also benefit from Samsung Care+ which  Includes screen repair protection that is valid for one incident for the repair of damaged inner or outer screen of the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the inner screen for Galaxy Z Flip3 within a 12 month period.

Unlike last year, Samsung’s local office said they brought in more foldable devices.

“Last year we sold out all our foldable devices at pre-order, meaning there is a demand for this kind of devices in this market. This year we have enough numbers available for everyone who wishes to enjoy our foldable device range” Mr. Charles Kimari, Head of Consumer Electronics at Samsung Electronics East Africa told us on our 24bit podcast.

Globally Samsung also received massive pre-orders for the new foldables. According to reports that cited unnamed industry sources, Samsung apparently received 450,000 pre-orders of both devices combined during the first week of being launched.
