Samsung Might Combine its Galaxy S and Galaxy Note Series Devices Next Year

Samsung has kept its yearly smartphone strategy for top-tier devices for a long time. However, that may soon change. And the main reasons behind that is because, over time, the Galaxy Note series now has few notable changes from the S-Series devices. Therefore, the moves make so much sense.

Rumors have been hinting at this idea for some time, but the latest rumor comes from Evan Blass one of the industry’s top leakers. Evan Blass, (@evleaks on Twitter) recently hinted that Samsung is debating on the future of its Galaxy branding to eliminate the distinction between the two flagship series (Galaxy S and Galaxy Note).

He tweeted saying, “Samsung is said to be debating future Galaxy branding, including eliminating the distinction between the S and Note lines. Could manifest in different ways, possibly with a ‘Galaxy One’ in lieu of an S11.”

“…one possibility is to simply fuse them into a single first-half handset, essentially an S-series with an S-Pen,” he explained in a follow-up tweet.

He further continued stating that by any chance the Galaxy Fold performs better, Samsung will then replace it as the latter-year premium flagship.

In a real sense, there isn’t any much difference between the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. This year’s Galaxy Note series featured minimal upgrades over the S lineup launched earlier in February. Galaxy Note 10 series supports 45W fast charging bumped from 15W on the S10 series, an S-Pen one of the main features in the Note series and some software features like DeX on Mac/Windows.
