Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, Galaxy Tab S12+ Specifications, Features

The flagship Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra features a 14.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the smaller Galaxy Tab S12+ sports a 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with trimmed-down bezels. Both displays offer a peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits and support an upgraded Vision Booster feature that dynamically tunes tone mapping and luminance according to ambient light conditions.

Audio on both tablets is handled by an upgraded four-channel spatial audio system, which is said to double the channel count over the previous generation.

Under the hood, the Galaxy Tab S12 series is powered by an unspecified 3nm processor. According to Samsung, the new chipset provides a 61 percent faster Neural Processing Unit (NPU), 19 percent faster CPU performance, and a 17 percent jump in GPU capabilities over the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. For thermal dissipation during intensive workloads such as multi-stream 4K editing or extended gaming, the tablets incorporate a newly engineered 3D Vapor Chamber. Both slates are also rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

In the battery department, the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is rated to deliver up to 23 hours of endurance on a single charge, while the Galaxy Tab S12+ is claimed to last up to 21 hours. Both tablets support 45W fast charging, which is claimed to take the battery from zero to 100 percent in around 95 minutes.

On the software front, the lineup runs on Android 17-based One UI 9 out-of-the-box. Samsung has promised up to seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of regular security patches for both devices.

Multitasking features include a three-way Multi Window view alongside Note Assist tools. The slates also come with a six-month trial of Google AI Pro, giving users day-one access to Gemini models and Gemini Notebook for generating summaries, audio overviews, and study materials. Additionally, the native Samsung Browser can now parse open tabs and historical browsing context to deliver contextual summaries.

For productivity, both models come bundled with an ergonomic S Pen stylus. Keyboard accessories—including the Pro Keyboard with an aluminium finish and dedicated Galaxy AI Key, alongside the Book Cover Keyboard Slim—are sold separately.

Samsung is also bundling software perks valued at around $600 (roughly KES 77,500). Notably, Adobe Photoshop comes pre-loaded with Firefly generative AI tools such as Generative Fill and Image to Video, alongside a four-month complimentary trial. Other included offers comprise a six-month trial for Notability, one year of free access to Goodnotes, a 66 percent discount on LumaFusion, six months of Clip Studio Paint, and one month of Notion Plus.
