The Technopolis Development Authority Board has been fully constituted, with the appointment of three new members completing its composition under the Technopolis Act, 2026.
The new appointees are James Musee Nduna, Yvonne Teresia Ogwang and Yunis M. Omar. Their induction comes as the Authority moves to operationalise an expanded national mandate under the Act, which commenced on May 29, 2026.
The law establishes the Technopolis Development Authority and provides for the composition of its Board under Section 7, drawing representatives from key national institutions, a nominee of the Council of Governors, competitively recruited members, and the Authority’s chief executive officer, who sits as an ex-officio member.
Ogwang joins as the Council of Governors nominee. She brings 15 years of experience in strategic communication, public affairs, digital governance and policy dialogue, and currently serves as Head of Communication and Manager in charge of the ICT and Knowledge Management Committee at the Council of Governors, where she supports the 47 county governments on digital transformation.
Nduna joins as the designated representative of the Office of the Attorney General. A Senior Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, he has held senior legal and leadership roles across government institutions spanning legal services, judicial administration and public sector governance.
Omar joins as Alternate to the Principal Secretary at the National Treasury. He currently serves as Director of Government Digital Payments at the Treasury and previously headed cybersecurity at the State Department for ICT and Digital Economy.
Technopolis Development Authority chief executive officer John Paul Okwiri said the full constitution of the Board marks an important milestone in the institution’s transition to a strengthened national mandate.
“The diverse expertise represented on the Board will provide the governance, strategic leadership and technical insight required to deliver on our expanded mandate,” said Okwiri.
He added that the Authority is positioning Technopolises as engines of innovation, investment and sustainable economic growth as Kenya pursues its Vision 2060 ambitions.
The Authority said it looks forward to working with the fully constituted Board to advance the country’s innovation and digital transformation agenda.
