Paratus Appoints Neill Nortje as Zambia Country Manager to Drive Enterprise Growth

Paratus has assigned Neill Nortje as its new Country Manager for Zambia, strengthening its leadership team as demand for enterprise connectivity and digital infrastructure continues to grow across the country.

Nortje takes over from Marius van Vuuren, who has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer at Paratus Group after leading the company’s Zambian operations.

The appointment is significant for Zambia as the country is experiencing increased demand for cloud services, data centre solutions and reliable business connectivity, creating new opportunities for telecommunications providers to expand their enterprise offerings.

Nortje joined the company two years ago, where he supervised the introduction of Paratus consumer services division before being appointed as the Operations Manager. His experience extends to enterprise connectivity, cloud services, network operations and data centre infrastructure, positioning him to lead the company’s next phase of growth in the Zambian market.

Speaking on his appointment, Nortje said some of his priorities include expanding Paratus’ network capacity, improving its enterprise services portfolio and delivering reliable digital infrastructure to support businesses across Zambia.

He also highlighted on improving local internet peering as a critical key area. According to Nortje, a significant share of internet traffic generated within Zambia is still routed through networks outside the country before reaching local users, increasing latency and operational costs. He added that improving local interconnection between network operators would enhance network performance while delivering faster and affordable internet services.

Paratus Group Chief Executive Officer Schalk Erasmus said Nortje has played a significant role in the company’s growth in Zambia which makes him well positioned to lead the business moving forward

“Neill has demonstrated strong leadership and a deep understanding of both our business and the local market. We are confident he will continue driving growth and delivering value to our customers in Zambia,” Erasmus said.

Furthermore, Paratus has continued to expand its presence across Africa by investing in fibre infrastructure, cloud platforms and data centres to meet growing demand for digital services. In Zambia, the company is expected to continue centering on enterprise connectivity and network expansion as businesses increasingly adopt cloud-based technologies and digital transformation strategies.
