Unboxing the Android One Infinix Note 5

The Infinix Note 5 is the latest device from Infinix Mobility to be unveiled in Kenya. The Android One device was first unveiled to the world at a global event held in Dubai.

Benjamin Jiang, Managing Director of Infinix Mobile said the Infinix Note 5 is targeting young professional thanks to the device’s fusion of technology and stylishness.

“Targeting trendsetters, and young professionals, Infinix Note 5 comes with a software experience designed by Google,  combined with great hardware from Infinix/TRANSSION. We empower our users to go beyond the limit with our newest breakthrough technology. All while they enjoy an intelligent lifestyle through the fusion of technology and stylishness.’’ Benjamin said.

We have the device with us and this article we will be unboxing as well as sharing our first thoughts but first below are the specs:

  • 6.0 ”  HD Full Display, 18:9
  • Dimensions: 158*75*8.4mm – 2.5D glass
  • Android  8.1 Oreo
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB internal expandable memory
  • Dual nano SIM capability
  • 2.0 GHz Octa Core Processor
  • 12 MP Rear camera
  • 16 MP front – low-light selfie
  • 4,500mAh non-removable battery
  • Fingerprint Scanner

Don’t expect much in terms of packaging, just a white box with the name ‘’Note 5’’ and a photo of the device splashed at the top.

Inside the box, you get the usual accessories, which include:

  • Infinix Note 5 device itself
  • AC Charger
  • USB Cable
  • Silicone Cover
  • A pair of Earphones
  • A Screen Protector and
  • User Guide

Infinix did a good job with the packaging the first thing you will actually notice when you open the box is the Infinix Note 5’s  6.0’’ inch display. This clearly gives you a clear indication of what to expect.

Design and Display

The design quality looks good. The 6.0’’ full HD display also struck me and remember Infinix also decided to go with an 18.9 screen ratio.

At the top of the display is where you have the 16MP selfie camera.

The power and volume rockers are on the right side and are positioned in a way that is easily noticeable.

The headphone jack and the USB port are all at the bottom. It’s here that you also have the speaker grills.

The fingerprint scanner is placed adjacent to the 12 megapixels primary camera and flash at the back.

Remember the Infinix Note 5 is an Android One device. Android One Programme was initially designed as a way to ensure seamless updates for entry-level devices so it will be interesting to experience it on the Infinix Note 5.

We have a full review coming up in a few weeks so be sure to check out to ensure you don’t miss on anything. More photos of the Infinix Note 5 are available on our Instagram page.
