Liquid Telecom named Best African Wholesale Carrier at Global Carrier Awards

Liquid Telecom has for the fourth consecutive year been named the Best African Wholesale Carrier at the 11th annual Global Carrier Awards with the company honoured for its innovation, vision and service excellence.

The Global Carrier Awards are the most prestigious awards dedicated exclusively to wholesale telecoms. Liquid Telecom beat off competition from the other shortlisted companies – PCCW Global, Emerging Marketing Communications and WIOCC – to win the title again. Shortlisted companies in previous years include Bharti Airtel and Orange.

Commenting on the award, Liquid Telecom Group CEO Nic Rudnick congratulated everyone at the company on this outstanding achievement. Four years in a row is something to be celebrated.

”However, we will continue to work hard to improve our offering – adding new and innovative services to help our wholesale customers reduce churn, and adding value for our retail customer We understand Africa and its challenges – and we don’t let it stop us in our goal to connect the entire continent and enable the people and businesses of Africa to prosper.” he added.

The award recognised Liquid Telecom’s continuing commitment to Africa which has a team of more than 900 people with 830 in Africa – more than any other wholesale carrier on the continent. Its NOCs are open 24/7/365 with each wholesale customer serviced by its own in-country team. In addition, its guaranteed SLAs are at a level not previously experienced in Africa.

This year, Liquid Telecom has expanded its fibre, wireless and satellite networks and ability to provide connectivity into all countries in Africa including newcomer, war-torn south Sudan. The company also launched its CrashPlan Africa plan, the most sophisticated and reliable back-up and restore data service ever available in Africa for both large and small businesses among other highlights

The Global Carrier Awards are independently judged by a panel of telecoms analysts, industry experts and the senior editorial team of Capacity magazine. A full list of the Global Carrier winners can be found at: Capacity Magazine
