Nokia has announced Nokia C3, an additional budget-focused device meant for consumers with slender wallets. The company maintains its clean Android mantra with this device as well as the usual promise of two major software upgrades alongside three years of monthly security updates.
Nokia C3 has a slightly bigger display (at 5.8-inches) than its predecessor, Nokia C2, which we have recently reviewed.
The phone ships with Android 10 (not the Go version this time round) out of the box. So that guarantees that the phone will get Android 12 which will be shipped next year plus the imminent Android 11 R.
Nokia C3 comes stocked with a 3040mAh battery, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. Of course, you’re not stuck with just 32GB of internal storage. You can expand it a bit via the available microSD card slot.
And because cameras are essential, there is a single 8MP lens on the rear and a single 5MP lens on the front. Both the rear and front camera lenses have an LED flash.
The big change apart from the larger display, standard Android, and the bumped-up memory is the included fingerprint sensor at the back. This is the first time Nokia’s C series has added the now standard fingerprint security feature.
Of course, the phone doesn’t miss the usual perks in Nokia phones; a dedicated Google Assistant button. Besides that, you also get 4G support, micro USB 2.0 port, BT 4.2, dual SIM slots, and a headphone jack.
Nokia C3 ships in either Nordic Blue or Sand Gold with a retail price of around KSh 10,000.
