Augmented Reality Art Show Launched to Champion Africa’s Tech Leaders

African augmented reality art experience “Nyota” has been unveiled by Co-creation Hub (CcHUB). The Augmented Reality Art Show was unveiled on Wednesday 6th, in order to celebrate 24 of Africa’s technology pioneers that have championed innovation and contributed to massive growth in the African technology landscape.

Among the technology and innovation champions celebrated include Jason Njoku, Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, Funke Opeke, and Rebecca Enonchong.

All of the selected tech leaders were praised for their immense contribution in shaping the innovation and technology ecosystem of the African continent.

Mayowa Alabi designed the exhibition’s AR pieces which were then curated by the CcHub. You can go to CcHub’s official website and view the digital illustration using ‘Artivive,’ an augmented reality app that is available on both iOS and Android.

To view the art, first give Artivive permission to access your phone’s camera then point your phone towards the artwork. For the best experience, hold your phone in a vertical position.

“Technology is Africa’s fourth industrial revolution; it is powering and impacting the lives of millions. There are a number of personalities from across the continent who have been integral to promoting the technology-at-scale agenda in Africa,” stated Bosun Tijani, CEO at CcHUB.

“Nyota is a recognition of these tech leaders, and we are thrilled to be celebrating their work through this incredible augmented reality exhibition,” he added.

The exhibition will also travel to CcHUB Lagos and Design Lab Kigali in 2020.
