Tech Mahindra and Mastercard partner to automate business payments
Tech Mahindra has collaborated with Mastercard to help global enterprises modernize business–to–business (B2B) payment capabilities into existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) and procurement platforms.
The partnership is expected to help businesses automate payments, improve working capital management, enhance fraud prevention and simplify supplier onboarding and payment reconciliation without requiring them to replace their existing technology systems.
The collaboration will integrate Mastercard’s embedded payment capabilities into enterprise software, including ERP systems and procure – to – pay platforms.
The integration is meant to enable finance, treasury, accounts payable, and procurement teams to manage transactions more efficiently while improving financial visibility and payment controls.
However, through application programming interface (API)- led integration, payment automation and real- time reconciliation, both companies intend to reduce operational hindrance and improve transaction security and compliance within the software environment enterprises already use.
“Enterprises should not have to choose between modern payment capabilities and the technology investments they already rely on. Together with Mastercard, we are bringing payments directly into the flow of procurement and finance. This partnership will also enable enterprises to leverage Agentic-AI workflows to optimize and modernize at their own pace while creating a faster and more connected experience for their suppliers,” said Roshan Shetty, BFSI and Public Sector Head, Americas, Tech Mahindra.
According to Rebecca Meeker, Senior Vice President of B2B Platforms and Embedded Finance at Mastercard, integrating payments into enterprise platforms could make commercial transactions more automated and improve financial oversight.
“Embedding payments directly into the platforms enterprises use every day can transform commercial payments from a manual process into an integrated, intelligent part of the procurement and finance workflow. Our partnership with Tech Mahindra brings together payments and enterprise transformation expertise to help organizations automate payment processes, improve visibility and control, and optimize working capital, while creating more efficient, connected experiences for their suppliers,” Meeker said.
The partnership will facilitate the adoption of payment capabilities into broader enterprise resource planning and digital transformation initiatives, allowing businesses to modernize their financial operations while maintaining their existing systems.
Ultimately, the Tech Mahindra and Mastercard partnership aims to help businesses reduce manual processes, improve supplier relationships, and establish a more connected approach to B2B payments.
