Absa brings banking services closer to customers at Nyali Bazaar Mall

Absa Bank Kenya has launched a Sales and Service Pod at Nyali Bazaar Mall in Mombasa, expanding its banking services in the Coast region as the bank seeks to reach more customers through alternative service channels.

The new pod comes after the launch of its first outlet at the Junction Mall in Nairobi, allowing customers to access selected banking services during mall trading hours , outside the operating hours of the usual branches.

The Nyali facility will allow customers to open bank accounts, receive instant debit and prepaid cards, activate digital banking services, make enquiries and obtain financial advisory support.

Absa Bank Kenya Customer Network and Director, Peter Mutua, said the model is intended to combine digital banking with personalized assistance at convenient locations.

“The future of banking is about meeting customers where they are. Through our Sales & Service Pods, we are bringing banking closer to communities by combining the convenience of digital banking with personalised physical service. This model helps us strengthen customer relationships, enhance financial access, and deliver the flexibility that today’s customers expect,” said Mutua.

In addition, Mutua said that despite the adoption of digital banking services, physical locations are still significant for customers seeking financial advice and personalized assistance.

“Customers want the flexibility to choose how they bank. While digital channels offer speed and convenience, physical presence remains important in building trust and providing personalised financial support. This pod delivers both convenience and expert advice in a location that fits naturally into customers’ daily lives,” he noted.

Furthermore, Absa is looking forward to launching more Sales and Services Pods in high-traffic locations as it expands its distribution network.

The rollout forms part of its efforts to provide customers with an alternative to traditional branches while maintaining access to in- person banking services.
