NTT DATA and Palo Alto Networks expand AI security alliance as enterprises prepare for a new wave of cyber threats

NTT DATA and Palo Alto Networks have entered a multi-year strategic alliance aimed at assisting enterprises in securing AI adoption, modernizing cybersecurity infrastructure, and enhancing protection against emerging cyber threats.

The partnership is targeting USD1 billion in joint business by 2029, bringing together Palo Alto Networks’ AI-powered cybersecurity technologies with NTT DATA’s consulting, engineering and managed security services.

The companies said the alliance will focus on organizations operating in highly regulated and critical sectors, including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and the public sector.

The partnership is intended to give businesses a more integrated approach to cybersecurity, covering risk assessment, technology deployment and ongoing security management. The companies will also collaborate on engineering and solution development to accelerate the rollout of AI security services.

A major focus will be helping organizations manage the security risks that come with the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence. As companies deploy AI applications and autonomous AI agents, they face new challenges involving identity management, data protection, governance, and increasingly sophisticated cyberattacks.

The alliance will focus on six key areas of cybersecurity transformation, including AI-powered security operations to help organizations detect and respond to threats faster, AI governance to manage security and risk throughout the AI lifecycle, and identity security to protect users, devices, applications and AI agents. It will also strengthen Zero Trust and SASE capabilities to secure distributed networks, improve cloud security through better visibility and risk management across multi-cloud environments, and support firewall modernization to simplify legacy infrastructure and enhance overall security visibility.

The agreement expands an existing collaboration between the two companies around AI and cybersecurity. NTT DATA will work closely with Palo Alto Networks’ engineering teams and gain early access to selected platform capabilities to support the development of security services for enterprise customers.

The companies plan to support the alliance with more than 2,000 certified specialists and dedicated engineering resources. NTT DATA also brings a wider cybersecurity workforce of more than 7,500 professionals and a global network of security delivery and cyber defense centers.

The partnership comes as businesses face growing pressure to adopt AI while managing the security risks associated with rapidly changing technology environments. For enterprises operating across multiple cloud platforms and legacy systems, integrating security tools and reducing infrastructure complexity have become increasingly important.
