Sophos Empowers Partners with MDR Focus at Kenya Roadshow

Over 60 cybersecurity professionals convened in Mombasa last Friday for the Sophos Experience Partner Roadshow 2025, a major annual gathering of Sophos channel partners in Kenya. The full-day event served as a platform for strategic discussions, technical knowledge sharing, and deeper collaboration between Sophos and its regional partners.
As cyber threats continue to grow in complexity, the event placed significant focus on combating ransomware—highlighted in the latest Sophos Threat Report as having impacted 70% of small businesses and over 90% of mid-sized organizations globally in 2024. Discussions centered around how managed detection and response (MDR) solutions can help partners enhance their clients’ cyber resilience.
At the heart of the engagement was Sophos Central, the company’s unified, AI-powered platform that enables seamless security management across endpoints, cloud, email, and networks. Sophos MDR, a 24/7 expert-led threat hunting and response service, was emphasized as a critical solution in protecting increasingly dynamic digital environments.
“Partner enablement is at the heart of our strategy,” said Prish Thaakar, Director of Sales – Africa at Sophos. “We’re not just sharing technology—we’re equipping partners with the training, tools, and support to build scalable, profitable security services. The enthusiasm and participation at this year’s event reflect how critical MDR and unified security solutions have become for organizations of all sizes.”
The event featured focused breakout sessions for sales, technical, marketing, and managed service provider (MSP) professionals, with deep dives into product roadmaps, go-to-market strategies, and collaborative opportunities to deliver more value to customers.
Sophos also introduced updates to two key partner support programs—Sophos Partner Care, a 24/7 expert support desk to streamline operations and licensing assistance, and Sophos Customer Success, a dedicated team to enhance client engagement beyond onboarding.
A highlight of the day was an awards ceremony recognizing standout performance from regional partners. Computer Center (Tz) Ltd was named Partner of the Year, while Revolusys Software Limited received MDR Partner of the Year. Other honorees included Mart Networks Kenya Ltd as Distributor of the Year, XC360 for Campaign of the Year, Safaricom as Outstanding Contributor of the Year, and Symphony Rwanda Ltd for Outstanding Customer Success.
“These awards represent more than performance metrics. They are a testament to the strength, resilience, and shared vision of our channel ecosystem,” Thaakar noted. “We’re proud to walk this journey with our partners as they lead the charge in building cyber-resilient businesses across the continent.”
The roadshow also aligned with strategic milestones for Sophos globally, including the appointment of Chris Bell as Senior Vice President of Global Channel, Alliances and Corporate Development, and the launch of MSP Elevate—a new initiative supporting managed service providers currently securing over 250,000 businesses with Sophos technologies.
