[TechTrends Podcast] Unpacking KQ’s investments in tech and their partnership with AWS

In this latest episode of The TechTrends Podcast, we speak with David Mwaniki, a Senior Manager at Kenya Airways (KQ), ON how the airline is investing in technology.

The episode was recorded during the AWS Summit in Johannesburg last month. At the summit, AWS announced its ambitious plans to drive AI adoption in the region.

The company also showcased some of its Generative AI (GenAI) capabilities using Amazon Bedrock, a fully managed service that exposes foundational models (FMs) from leading AI companies through a single application programming interface (API).

David talked to me about the company’s technology adoption plans and how they are working with AWS to ensure the airline remains competitive.

In a previous interview, Fredrick Kitunga, Chief Information and Data Officer at KQ, told TechTrends Media that like many airlines around the world, Kenya Airways (KQ) has the potential to gain significant benefits from the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across all aspects of its operations.

“Innovation is a key component at Kenya Airways (KQ) for several compelling reasons. It delivers strategic and operational advantages that are critical to the airline’s growth and competitiveness.”

Kitunga added that the airline is committed to using innovation and technology to improve operational efficiency, customer experience and environmental sustainability. David explains these plans in this episode of our TechTrends podcast.
