You can now pay for your Showmax subscription with M-Pesa directly in-app.
Showmax announced on Wednesday that M-Pesa has now been fully integrated as a payment option for Kenyan subscribers.
The payment option which was available in the previous version of the app has been unavailable on the new-look app. Customers however had an option of paying via USSD.
Showmax announced the new app earlier this year. The rebrand featured a completely new logo and plans and came months after MultiChoice, Comcast’s NBCUniversal and Sky announced a joint streaming vision for Africa.
The new Comcast partnership guarantees Showmax an ongoing supply of hit content, as the media giant owns the likes of Universal Pictures, NBC, Peacock, Sky, DreamWorks Animation and Telemundo.
The new Showmax has three plans: Showmax Entertainment, Showmax Entertainment Mobile and Showmax Premier League.
Showmax Entertainment on mobile is available for Ksh 300 a month while the Showmax Entertainment plan on any compatible device now cost you Ksh 650 per month.
Showmax Premier League is the world’s first standalone Premier League plan for mobile that enables subscribers to watch all the 380 games on the platform for just Ksh 500 a month. What this means is that you cannot stream the League on a TV, PC or even a streaming box where the Showmax app is available.
Subscribers can also bundle the Showmax Premier League package with the Entertainment package for Ksh.700 but for mobile only.
