Ezra Chiloba has resigned as the Director General of the Communications Authority (CA). According to a statement from the Authority, Chiloba resigned on Wednesday in a letter to the Chairperson of the CA Board Ms Mary WanguI.
His resignation comes just a few weeks after he was suspended following allegations of abuse of office and conflict of interest.
‘’On behalf of the Authority, I wish the outgoing Director General success in his future endeavours and appreciate his invaluable contribution to the organization and the wider ICT sector’’ said the CA Board chairperson.
Chiloba was appointed to the position on 28 September 2021 for a four-year renewable term taking over from the late Francis Wangusi whose term ended in August 2019.
Prior to this appointment, he served as Principal Partner at Chil & Kemp Strategies Ltd, a Strategy Management Company, where he focused on strategy and risk management, policy and regulatory analysis, and leadership and management effectiveness.
Chiloba has also previously served as the Chief Executive Officer/Commission Secretary of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) between 2015 – 2018.
