vivo unveils its V27 series of smartphones in Kenya


vivo smartphones on Monday officially announced the launch of its new vivo V27 series in Kenya. The series comprises the V27 5G and V27e.

The series will be available for purchase from vivo major retailers and telecommunications partners across the country priced at Ksh.52,999 for the V27 5G and  Ksh. 37,999 for the V27e.

The vivo V27 5G is the big brother in this series featuring a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a full-HD+ resolution of 1,080×2,400 pixels that also supports for a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen is curved towards the edges, looks really good, and also sports a hole-punch cutout at the top.

vivo says this is the thinnest phone with 3D curved screens in its history, with a 7.36mm thickness and 180g weight.

The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 5G SoC and comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage,

There is a triple-camera setup on the back comprising a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766V primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) support. There is also an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel sensor with a macro lens. For selfies, the Vivo V27 has a 50-megapixel front camera with autofocus support.

For the battery, we’re getting a 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. vivo claims the fast charge allows users to charge to 50% in 19 minutes while the screen is off.

The Vivo V27 5G runs Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13 and measures 164.1x 74.8×7.4mm and weighs about 180g.

The vivo V27e, on the other hand sports a 6.62-inch AMOLED display with capacitive multi-touch support and 120Hz refresh rate. The FHD+ display has a 2,400 × 1,080 pixel resolution. The handset is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The device also comes with an Extended RAM of up to 8 GB, which is equivalent to RAM of 16 GB.

For optics, the Vivo V27e packs a 64-megapixel primary rear camera with OIS, accompanied by dual 2-megapixel sensors for bokeh and macro shots. For selfies and video calls, there is a 32-megapixel front camera.

The phone houses a 4,600mAh battery with support for 66W flash charging and runs Android 13-based Funtouch OS 13.

The vivo V27 series is available for purchase in Kenya starting today.
