Redmi Note 12 Series Launches in Kenya – Specs, Pricing and Availability


Xiaomi Kenya has today launched the highly anticipated Redmi Note 12 Series in Kenya. The new series will be available for purchase starting today and comprises Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12S, and Redmi Note 12.

The series is the successor to the Note 11 featuring a number of upgrades to the camera system, battery life, charging speed, and design.

Speaking about the launch, Xiaomi Kenya Country Manager, Mr. Bill Zhang said, “Xiaomi is demonstrating once again its commitment to making high-end smartphone features accessible to more people in the world. For the first time ever, a Xiaomi mid-range phone will feature flagship specifications, the Redmi Note 12 Series offers superior specs in the realms of camera, display, battery and charging efficiency; delivering high-level performance. Every device in this Series exceeds expectations beyond their price segment.”

Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G

The Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G is the headliner with an upgraded triple camera system; featuring a 200MP main camera with OIS, an ultra-wide camera, and a macro camera. 

The phone also features a 6.67-inch full-HD (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 900 nits of peak brightness. The display has support for HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. It is powered by an octa-core 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, alongside up to 8GB RAM, 256GB storage as well as Mali-G68 GPU.

For selfies and video chats, Xiaomi has added a 16-megapixel sensor at the front. The new Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G smartphone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. 

Redmi Note 12, 12 Pro and 12S

The Redmi Note 12 Pro is a dual SIM (Nano) phone and also comes with Android-12-based MIUI 13 on top. It sports a 6,67-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,400 pixels) OLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and HDR10+ support. 

The smartphone is powered by Snapdragon® 732G and comes with a 108MP Quad AI camera, a large 5,000mAh battery, and 67W turbocharging.

The phone also features a 6.67-inch full-HD+ with up to 120Hz  refresh rate, which is Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos® supported. It also comes with Android-12-based MIUI 13 on top and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and Mali-G68 GPU.

Redmi Note 12 on the other hand also boasts a super-smooth 120Hz AMOLED display and is powered by the Snapdragon 685 Mobile Platform

Redmi Note 12 features 33W fast charging and a 5,000mAh (typ) long-lasting battery. Adding to that, we’re also getting a solid 50MP AI triple camera, with a Night Mode feature as well as a host of useful fun features and filters that Xiaomi says puts the kind of camera power once reserved for flagship phones in more users’ hands at budget-friendly prices. 

Closing the series is the Redmi Note 12S with a triple camera system featuring a 108MP main camera, an ultra-wide lens, and a dedicated macro lens. The phone packs a large 5,000mAh with 33W fast charging. The device is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G96 processor and up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage.
