The event was attended by President William Ruto, Cabinet Secretary for Trade, Investment, and Industry, Hon. Moses Kuria among other dignitaries. Mr.Njonjo signed a high-level framework with the ministry of trade, aimed at facilitating access to the much-anticipated hustler funder. The President announced that Twiga will have access to Ksh 300 million, out of the KSh 50bn hustler fund kitty scheduled to be launched soon. Twiga will be among the agencies tasked with distributing the low-interest government funds to citizens.

This facility will form the backbone of our supply chain and will be key in enabling our new service, fulfillment by Twiga” said Njonjo.

Twiga has seen major changes in its business model this year which has led to the downsizing of its workforce. In the new model, 221 employees who worked as salespersons will now manage their own regions and earn commissions from the sales they attract.
