Three Kenyan founders selected for the Future is Female Mentorship Program

The Future is Female Mentorship Program is a PR and communications mentorship program dedicated exclusively to African female tech founders. It was launched in 2020, as the Covid-19 pandemic ravaged businesses.

The program is an initiative of C. Moore Media, International Public Relations (CMM), a New York-headquartered PR agency focusing on the US, UK, and African markets. The first cohort was indicted on African Day 2020.

Now in its third year, the program has enlisted 25 founders of female-funded tech startups, among them three Kenyans.

The three Kenyan mentees are Wambui Karingithi, co-founder of Chiza Health, a Kenyan health-tech startup, Radhika Bhachu, co-founder of Ndovu, a Kenyan investment and fund management startup that provides access to global markets and Linet Kinyua, co-founder of Pensoft System Limited, a Kenyan IT services and management company.

The startups selected for this year’s program are building solutions in sectors such as health, education, finance, agriculture, gender equality and sustainability.

The 2021 mentees gained instant global recognition when Forbes magazine exclusively listed them. Learning how to get media attention is an important aspect of the program.

All the finalists will be guided on how to create a communications plan, storytelling best practices, strategic business communications with multiple stakeholders, how to position their startups for investment opportunities and more.

Apart from mentorship on media relations and PR, the masterclasses will also include three-months mentorship sessions customized to the specific business needs of mentees.
