Smartphone manufacturer vivo has signed a partnership that will see its devices sold at all Safaricom outlets. This, the company says will boost its efforts to increase and stamp its footprint in the Kenyan market.
vivo has continued to cut a space in the growing Kenyan smartphone market and the partnership will ensure some of vivo’s latest products are accessible through Safaricom’s nationwide networks. The products will also be listed on Safaricom’s online platform Masoko. They include vivo Y15s, vivo Y21, and the vivo Y33s.
vivo Kenya Brand and Communications Manager Mr. James Irungu said, “As a Smartphone Brand, we are keen on strengthening our connection with our customers and partners to meet the increasing demand for internet use in this market.”
Vivo’s partnership comes at a time when smartphone uptake in Kenya and Africa is on the rise. The company is looking to play a key role by expanding users’ options with affordable devices.
”We are aiming to offer more options of smartphone with high-quality standard and comprehensive functionality to fulfill the increasing demand of Kenyan consumers,” Irungu said.
The devices will be available in all Safaricom outlets and the online platform Masoko. They are retailing at, KES 17,999 for the Y21 brand, KES 23,999 for the Y33s while the Y15s will sell at KES 13,999.
