realme Launches realme C11, 6 and Band Expanding its Portfolio of Devices in Kenya

Yesterday, realme Kenya officially unveiled a slew of devices, as they had long planned to. The devices included a new budget-focused phone, a mid-ranger, and a fitness band.

Speaking of the midrange device, realme 6 is the first phone in Kenya at its price range with a 90Hz display refresh rate.

Realme 6 will be retailing at Ksh 30,000 across the country. The phone’s modern design language is charming and it doesn’t disappoint under the hood – at least on paper.

Besides, the company says the phone is splash-resistant – not to confuse with IP water resistance rating. Realme 6 has a 6.6-inch FHD+ 90Hz display with a 90.6% screen-to-body ratio and has Corning’s Gorilla Glass on top for protection.

The primary selfie camera includes a 16MP lens placed in a hole punch at the top left.

For capturing normal pictures, realme 6 is equipped with a quad-camera setup on the rear. It includes a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens(with EIS), a monochrome portrait lens, and a 4cm macro lens.

The phone runs on MediaTek’s Helio G90T(based on the 12nm node) paired with 8GB of memory and 128GB of internal storage. Another specification that’s a real game-changer for mid-range phones in Kenya is the 4300mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.

Realme says the 30W brick can charge the device fully I just about an hour. Other details about the phone include the side-placed fingerprint sensor(on the power button), microSD card support(up to 256GB), and Android 10-based realme UI skin. Realme 6 will be selling in two color variants; comet blue and comet white. You can watch our realme 6 unboxing video here.

The device runs on realme UI 1.0 based on Android 10. Realme C11 will be selling in two paint jobs; rich green and rich grey.

realme Band

Realme also announced a fitness band. It sports a 0.96-inch color display, several dial faces, a slew of sports tracking modes, a heart rate, and sleep quality monitor.

You can link it to your device to keep up with SMS and social media updates. Realme band plugs directly to your power brick without an additional cable. It’s also water-resistant.

A single charge lasts between 7 to 10 days with the heart rate monitor on. Realme band costs Ksh 3,000 and is available in black, yellow, and green. According to the company, every purchase of realme 6 will be accompanied by a free fitness band.
