Xiaomi Redmi 8A Goes on Sale in Kenya For Ksh 9,999

Xiaomi’s Redmi series is, for no doubt, the most popular smartphone series of the company this year. Xiaomi announced the Redmi 8A in September, and this device is now available in Kenya.

Unlike the Redmi Note series, the Redmi series is even cheaper and upholds Xiaomi’s mission of delivering more value for less. The Redmi series is all about this, and for the Redmi 8A, nothing changes at all.

Redmi 8A is selling on Jumia for Ksh 8,999 (You can buy it here) . At this price you are getting more than you can imagine. This phone has a USB Type C port, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the back and the front, a massive 5,000mAh battery, and 18W fast charging support. These specs can not be found on any other device at this price point in the market.

So, buying the Redmi 8A is not something you can give a second thought about if you are on a tight budget. The device has a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch, a single 12MP primary camera, an 8MP selfie camera, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 SoC paired with 2GB of RAM.

For media storage, Redmi 8A has 32GB internal storage. On top of that, there is LTE support, BT 5.0, Face Unlock, OTG support, and a dedicated microSD card slot. Although this phone supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 (up to 18W), it only comes with a 10W charger out of the box.

So, you might want to grab a charger with more watts to enjoy the full capability of the phone if that’s not enough. This phone comes in three color variants – midnight black, sunset red, and ocean blue.
