Telkom Kenya has revamped its Pawa voice bundles. The telco has sweetened the deal by including SMS and data packs. The new move continues the company’s competitive pricing trend on Kenya’s telco market.
Pawa 10, which costs Ksh 10 valid for 24 hours, offering 30 minutes for Telkom to Telkom calls now includes an additional 50MB data for WhatsApp. Pawa 20, which now includes 100MB data, comes with 5 minutes to any network and 100 SMS.
Pawa 20 Extra includes 100MB from the previous 10MB, 100minutes on-net and 100SMS up from 40. All of these pawa voice bundles are valid for 24 hours.
Speaking of the newly revamped voice bundles, Telkom Director, Marketing, Mr Eric Achola, says, “It is worth noting that SMS and WhatsApp communication are popular among the young audiences who have been actively at home following the prolonged closure of educational institutions due to the current pandemic.”
“Many consumers are now making more voice calls as they reach out to their family, friends and colleagues,” he added.
Latest data from the Communications Authority of Kenya(CA) shows an increase in Telkom’s outgoing voice traffic. In the quarter ended June 2020 Telkom’s outgoing voice traffic rose from 486.7 million minutes in Q1 to 524.2 million minutes in Q2.
The company has recently launched its new 4G Kaduda series feature phone running KaiOS and also partnered with Showmax Pro Mobile offering a free subscription to those who purchase their 30GB or 45GB data bundles.
