Yesterday Huawei’s local office officially unveiled Huawei Nova 5T, a not-so-new device since the parent company introduced it first in August 2019 (It has since been selling in other markets where the company’s Nova brand is popularly recognized).

The phone is a mid-range device, and so you’re getting some good mid-range specs. Out of the box, you’ll notice the brilliant Black, Crush Blue, or Midsummer Purple colors, the punch-hole cutout on display, and a vertical camera bump housing four different camera lenses.

The display is large enough at 6.26-inches to sort out your watching needs and is an IPS LCD type. The phone packs 1080 x 2340 pixels on the front and presents itself in a tall 19.5:9 ratio. Glass sandwiches this device, with an aluminum frame bringing them all together.

With 6GB or 8GB of memory, this should fulfill your needs when paired with Huawei’s in-house 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset. For storage of your media files, Nova 5T ships with 128GB of onboard storage and has no microSD card.

Out of the box, Huawei Nova 5T runs on Android 9.0 Pie-based EMUI 9, but it is still upgradable to Android 10, so that shouldn’t be a bother.

Huawei opted for a 3750mAh battery to power the Nova 5T and can easily be filled with juice thanks to the 25W Fast Charging support. The company says the phone can go from zero to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.

For graphical processing, Huawei Nova 5T has the Mali-G76 MP10 GPU.

The phone comes with little pecks as well featured in most 2019 phones like a fingerprint scanner(side-mounted), USB Type C, NFC Bluetooth 5.0 Support, and a quad-camera setup on the rear.

Speaking of the quad-camera setup, it consists of a 48MP primary lens(wide), a 16MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP dedicated micro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor that aims to give that special effect for your bokeh needs.  For snapping selfies, the phone has a 32 MP, f/2.0 lens placed in a punch-hole cutout.

Huawei Nova 5T launched at a price of Ksh 41,999. You can however pre-order yours from today until 30th January. Those who pre-order it will the Huawei Band 4 as a gift. Official sales will start on the 31st of January.
