Samsung Flags Off Galaxy S26 Branded Buses at JKIA

Samsung Kenya has officially rolled out three Galaxy S26 branded buses at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), placing its newest flagship device at the heart of one of East Africa’s busiest travel hubs.

The flag-off was led by Evelyne Munene, Samsung’s Head of Mobile Experience, alongside the Kenya Airways team, and the buses are now fully operational within the airport’s passenger transfer circuit.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy S26 branded buses will support passenger movement within the airport and offer travelers a smooth and engaging experience as they move through the airport journey.

The activation is timed to coincide with the Galaxy S26’s global momentum since its launch at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event in February 2026. The S26 series, comprising the S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra, runs Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI 8.5 and is built around what Samsung calls its most intuitive Galaxy AI experience to date.

The standard Galaxy S26 features a 6.3-inch display, a 50MP triple rear camera system, and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, delivering a significant performance leap over its predecessor.

The S26 Ultra is the big brother in this lineup and is generating significant buzz for its world-first Privacy Display- a panel-level technology that narrows the screen’s viewing angle from the sides, offering discreet visibility in busy public spaces like airports without the need for a separate privacy screen protector.

It is also the first Galaxy Ultra to support 60W wired charging, reaching 75% battery in just 30 minutes.

On the camera front, the S26 Ultra packs a 200MP primary camera with a wide f/1.4 aperture, an improvement over its predecessor, alongside a 50MP ultrawide, a 10MP 3x telephoto, and a 50MP periscope telephoto with 5x optical zoom. The upgraded Nightography system, powered by an AI image signal processor, extends to the front camera as well, capturing crisp detail even in low-light conditions.

The device is available in Black, Cobalt Violet, Sky Blue and White, with AI tools including Photo Assist for intelligent photo editing and the new Now Nudge feature, which surfaces contextual information before users even have to search for it. Samsung has committed to seven years of security patches and OS upgrades for the S26 series, a longevity promise increasingly central to its premium pitch.

By anchoring the campaign at JKIA, Samsung gains direct access to an audience of business travellers, tourists and frequent flyers, exactly the demographic the Galaxy S26 is designed for.
